She is perhaps best known for her roles as Officer Fran Belding on the original and Teresa O"Brien on the show Lancer. Baur succeeded Barbara Anderson in portraying a female detective on National Broadcasting Company television"s, as her character of Fran Belding replaced Anderson"s Eve Whitfield. In 1972, she told a reporter: "They interviewed 100 girls for this role.
