On the advice of the poet M. Voloshin, sent her ultra-romantic poems under the pen-name of Cherubina de Gabriac to the best literary magazine of the day, Apollon, and became overnight an idolized celebrity. Cause of the last of the famous Russian literary duels (between Gumilev and Voloshin). When her real identity became known, cruelly humiliated by ridicule.
Later wrote verse for children with Marshak in the 1920s. Worked as a librarian at the Academy of Sciences.
