Edwards received a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, in Baltimore in 1958.
Since 1968 she has been an instructor for the Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville, Maryland. She has also worked as an artist- in-residence and as director of children's “Paint- In" at Glen Echo National Park in Maryland from 1974 to 1976.
In her photographs Edwards superimposes female nudes, one upon another, over landscapes to create a new abstract image.
Edwards is a member of the Montgomery County Art Educators Association and the Independent Press Association.
