Stout, Elmer William was born on March 14, 1876 in Paoli, Indiana, United States. Son of John Thomas and Adeline (McCarrell) Stout.

Education

Graduate high sch; student Harvard University, 1896-1898.

Career

Admitted to Indiana bar, 1901, and began practice at Indianapolis. With firm of Baker & Daniels, until 1910. Associated in practice with Larz A. Whitcomb and Samuel Dowden, 1910-1916.

Attorney Board of Park Commissioners, Indianapolis, 1908-1916. Vice-president and counsel Fletcher American National Bank. 1916-1923, president 1923-1933.

Now Chairman of the Board American National Bank, Indiana merged with Fletcher Trust, merger named American Fletcher National Bank & Trust Company. Director Indianapolis Power & Light Company, Indiana Bell Tel. Company Trustee Earlham College, 1917-1920.

President Indiana Bankers Association, 1929-1930.
