In 1805-1806 Emelyan Mikhailovich lived as a boarder of the Academy of Fine Arts in Italy. He served in the "Commission for the construction of the Church of Our Lady of Kazan" (St. Petersburg, 1807-1810). He served in the Department of Mountain and Salt Affairs "to draw medals" (1816-1818). An official of the special orders of the State Audit Office in Moscow (since 1828)
In the autumn of 1803, an expedition from Tsaritsyn proceeded through Voronezh to Kharkov, Poltava, and Kherson. Korneyev completed the watercolor "View of Voronezh from the Tsaritsyn Road" (State Literary Museum). He served in the Department of Mountain and Salt Affairs "to draw medals" (1816-1818). In 1819-1822, he participated in an expedition around the world in northern latitudes (the figures were lost).
