Emil Monos was Hungarian physiologist, consultant. Achievements include scientific discoveries related to long-term structural and functional adaptation of extremity blood vessels to gravitational stress, and to hemodynamic responses in orthostasis and antiorthostasis. Recipient Szent-Györgyi Albert medal and award, Hungarian Government, 1995, Batthyány-Strattmann László medal and award, 2001.

Deputy-rector in teaching Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest, Hungary, 1995—1999, professor, director, experimental research department, Institute Physiology Hungary, 1990—2000. Emeritus professor physiology Semmelweis University, since 2005. Adjunct professor physiology Medical College Wisconsin, since 1988.

Chairman, board health science Hungarian Fellowship Council, Budapest, since 1990. Chairman board medical informatics Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, since 1999.
