Ordained, 1874; taught sciences in colleges and seminary in France for four years. Became a member of the Congregation known as the Missionaries Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Was sent to the missions of Western Canada, where he ministered to the Blackfeet tribes of Southern Alberta (Blackfeet proper, Peigans Indians, and Blood Indians), 1881-1897.
Was consecrated Bishop in the same diocese, and has become the titular Bishop of St. Albert on the death of his predecessor, 1902.
