Born in Rosario, he began his career at hometown professional club Rosario Central, joining its youth ranks aged nine in 1997. Vecchio professionally for Central in 2005, being teammate of future football star Ángel Di María and other players like veteran Kily González. In mid-2007, he was bought by Brazilian giants Corinthians after being on trial at Real Madrid.
Nevertheless, he was loaned him to Spanish side CF Fuenlabrada from Segunda División B (country’s third tier).
In January 2009, Vecchio was loaned to Grêmio Barueri. After an unsuccessful spell at Brazil (only playing three games for Barueri in the season), he returned his homeland and joined amateur side Defensores de Belgrano de Villa Ramallo.
At the team led by José Luis Sierra in the age, he highlighted in both competitions. His first continental goal was against Colombian side Junior, scoring his side’s goal following a nice free kick in a 2–1 away loss.
During the season he scored six goals in 35 appearances and helped Unión to be runner-up of the 2012 Clausura.
On 26 December 2012, it was confirmed that Vecchio alongside his teammate at Unión, Emilio Hernández, were the new signings of for the 2013 season. After an irregular season for the club, the following year Vecchio was protagonist of the league title obtained, being an undisputed player at Héctor Tapia scheme. On 26 December 2015, he announced that won’t continue in the club following differences with the club’s president, Anibal Mosa.
On 20 January 2016, he joined Qatar South Carolina, signing a six-month contract.
