Bruni starred in the sitcom Believe Nothing as Doctor Hannah Awkward (a professor of pedantics) alongside Rik Mayall. The series was written by Maurice Gran and Laurence Marks. In 2002 she appeared alongside Bill Nighy in the successful return of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
Bruni is best known for portraying Helene Dufosse in television series Agatha Christie"s Marple and the Empress Catherine the Great in the 2005 television documentary Catherine the Great.
Emily also played the role of Sarah Woodruff in the British Broadcasting Corporation version of "The French Lieutenant"s Woman", narrated by John Hurt and repeated on British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 7 on 12 and 13 February 2009. She has also appeared in British Broadcasting Corporation Three"s television show, Personal Affairs, where she played Rachel Klein and also played Gail, the girlfriend of Jeremy"s love interest, in Channel 4"s Peep Show.
