Recognized as one of America’s fine nonfiction writers, Emily also practices as a designer and communication strategist. She is a fan of planet Earth, democracy, and social justice. The author of three books, Emily’s works have appeared in: magazines (The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The Nation, Salon, among them); anthologies (including Best American Poetry, Norton Book of Nature Writing, and This Impermanent Earth); and many literary journals.
