Perkins, Emily Swan was born on October 19, 1866 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Daughter of George Wallbridge and Sarah Louise (Mills) Perkins.

Education

Sister of the late George W. Perkins. Educated Central High School, Cleveland, 1880-1885. Founder, 1922, and correspondent secretary of the Hymn Society “to promote the production and use of better hymns and tunes in church worship.” Composer of music appearing in Presbyterian and other hymnals.
