She is Jewish, scored top marks in her religious studies A level, and considered pursuing a master"s degree in religion. She is a regular documentary maker for Radio 4 and commentator on women's issues, media, social affairs, technology, politics and culture for British Broadcasting Corporation News, Independent Television, Sky News and Cable News Network. Barnett launched The Telegraph’s digital section, Wonder Women. She was previously the newspaper’s Digital Media Editor, winning awards as "Digital Journalist of the Year" by the Association of Online Publishers and "Digital Writer of the Year" at the 2011 Online Media Awards.
She was named best new radio presenter at the Arqiva commercial radio awards and twice named in the Radio Academy’s 30 under 30 list.
She has also made the "20 under 30 Hot List" feature in Red magazine. In April 2014, she was a judge in the British Broadcasting Corporation Woman"s Hour power list.
She then went on to Nottingham University, graduating in 2006 with a degree in history and politics. She is women"s editor of The Daily Telegraph newspaper as well as being a radio presenter on LBC 97.3 FM, and an occasional newspaper reviewer on Sky News.
