Emmanuel-Abim Baidoo was regional Commissioner for Ashanti since the Ghana coup of January 13, 1972.

Background

Emmanuel-Abim Baidoo was born on November 1, 1933, at Breman-Asikuma.

Education

Educated at Sefwi-Anwhiaso Methodist School, where he got a Middle School Leaving Certificate in 1948.

Career

He joined the ranks in April 1951 and became lance-corporal in 1954, sergeant in 1955, finally being commissioned in 1960 after a course at Mons Officer Cadet School. He was then promoted fast to lieutenant-colonel by 1968.

After further training at the Staff College in India, he became commander of the 4th Battalion of Infantry until 1970, when he was made Director of Man-Power, Planning and Administration at the Ministry of Defence.
