Enchi Fukimo attended the Girl’s High School attached to the Nippon Women’s University.
She became known with her maiden work Furusato (Native Land) in 1926. In 1939 she turned to novel writing publishing fine lyrical works with descriptions of women’s phycology. Besides her dramas «Noisy Spring Evening» (Banshun Soya), «Husband in the Midday» (Hakuchu no Otto) and «Unwilling Parting with Spring» (Seki Shun) and the above-mentioned «Hungry Months».
