Endon was initiated into priesthood by Shinson and mastered the doctrine of both esoteric and exoteric Buddhism of the Tendai Sect. After studying seven years at the Jikoji Temple and on Mt. Hiei near Kyoto, he returned to Musashi and built the Butchi-in and Butsuzo-in Temples. Among his disciples, Yukai was the most distinguished.
