Career
Quintanilla started his career with local side American Film Institute before moving to Alianza in 2009 in controversial circumstances: he was alleged to have also signed a contract with Vista Hermosa. He returned to second division American Film Institute-El Roble for the 2011 Clausura. In June 2011 he had a trial with Luis Ángel Firpo but a deal did not materialize.
Quintanilla was selected for the national U-20 and U-21 teams, but his international career came under threat after he did not show up for preparation for a World Cup qualification match.
