Austin, Ennis Raymond was born on August 30, 1863 in Owasco, Cayuga County, New York, United States. Son of John Rooks and Louise Ann (Prentice) Austin.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Cornell Univercity, 1886.

Career

Began with N. LeBrun & Sons, architects, New York City, 1887. With John Du Fais, and Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company, 1888-1892. Member firm of Parker & Austin, architects, South Bend, Indiana, 1892-1901.

Superintendent of construction, United States Treasury Department, 1901-1906. Firm of Schneider & Austin, South Bend, 1906-1909. Member Austin & Shambleau, 1909-1940.

Firm designed South Bend Federal Building, Building & Loan Tower, several city school buildings, etc. Now retired.

Fellow American Institute of Architects. Member Indiana Chapter American International Assurance (president, 1911-1912), Indiana Society Architects, South Bend Architectural. Clubs: Rotary, Indiana.
