Career
After graduating from the university he became the manager of the family’s sugar, coffee and cotton plantations. His business was developing successfully during 20 years. Bolanios was also the head of some industrial and trade organizations in Nicaragua, the president of the Higher Council of private sector- the powerful organization in Nicaragua.
In summer 2000 leaving the post in government service Enrique Jose Bolanios began his own hustings during which he accused the ex-president Arnoldo Aleman of corruption and money laundering.
On November 4, 2001 Enrique Jose Bolanios won the presidential elections and on January 10, 2002 his inauguration took place.
Achievements

While mentioning the struggle with poverty Enrique Bolanios decided to allocate from the budget 27, 5 million $ to built sport palaces on the country’s territory. For example in Managua it is supposed to build football and track and field stadiums, basketball and volleyball complexes and Olympic village.
The president decided to eliminate 2 thousand of the aircraft-rocket complexes “the Arrow”. Military forces will dispose the minimum number of rockets. The president sympathizes Iraqis and after the war he is ready to delegate the medical group and the group of engineers there. At the same time in June 2003 Nicaragua’s government assigned an agreement according to which Nicaragua won’t deliver up American citizens, who is accused in genocide, offence against humanity or military offence to the International criminal court.
The president of the country – is the leader of the Liberal constitutional party of Nicaragua. According to the words of his opponents “he is pragmatic but humane, strict can be strict if it’s necessary”.
