  • Achievements include research in biochemical characterization of aquaporins, cellular water and glycerol channels, for their evaluation as drug targets. Discovery of aquaporin-2 in the inner ear. Implications for potential therapy of Meniere's disease.

    Discovery of identification of the aquaglyceroporins of the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum, and the toxoplasmosis parasite, Toxoplasma gondii. Evaluation as potential drug target for chemotherapy.
