Organist and choirmaster, New England Congressional Church, Chicago, 1900-1912. Later organist 1st Church of Christ, Scientist. Organist and choirmaster 4th Presbyterian Church, 1914-1936.

Professor of University of Missouri, Ohio State University, University of Texas, in the 1940’son Music critic, Chicago Record-Herald, Tribune, and Inter Ocean, 1901-1914.

Appointed conductor Museum Art Society, Chicago, 1911-1913. Associate conductor Chicago Symphony Orchestra, 1918-1936.
