After curacies at Street Alban’s, Ultimo and Street Paul, Burwood he was Priest in charge at Kandos. From 1947 to 1968 he was Secretary of the Australian Board of Missions and from 1962 a Canon Residentiary at Street John"s Cathedral, Brisbane when he was ordained to the episcopate he died on 25 July 1986.
