Yocam grew up in California and Michigan. He earned a BS in Computer Engineering, an MBA, and MS degrees in Finance, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering, followed by a Doctor of Business Administration. He is currently finishing his PhD in Cyber Operations at Dakota State University.
Yocam has built a distinguished 25-year career spanning leadership roles at Microsoft (1999-2010) and T-Mobile (2010-2023), where he managed security and technical programs, achieving significant operational efficiency gains and holding 23 issued patents. Concurrently, he has maintained an extensive academic teaching career since 2007, instructing doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate courses in cybersecurity across multiple universities, currently serving as Lecturer at California Polytechnic State University. His career uniquely combines industry innovation, academic scholarship with numerous peer-reviewed publications, and service to the profession as an ABET Program Evaluator and certification exam author for CISSP, CDPSE, and other credentials.
