Served South Africa with Brabant"s Horse and Gloucester Regiment, 1899-1902 (despatches twice, Queen's medal, four clasps, King’s medal, two clasps, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order). Expedition Kordofan, Sudan, 1908 (Egyptian Sudan medal). Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1900.
Lieutenant, Gloucester Regiment. Attached Egyptian Army.
