Bacharach, Eric William was born on June 14, 1883 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Son of Hugo and Hattie Louise (Karrmann) Bacharach.

Education

Student of University of Cincinnati, Engineering College, 1902-1903 inclusive. University of Michigan, 1904-1905, Bachelor of Science in Engineering (as of class of 1906), 1943.

Career

With Pittsburgh Filter & Engineering Company, 1905-1922, advancing to western manager and 1st vice president, in charge company’s business west of Mississippi River. Sole proprietor of East. West. Bacharach & Company, Kansas City, Missoury, since 1922, president East. West. Bacharach, Incorporated. of Kansas City, Missoury, 1948, Chairman of the Board, retired 1960, now consultant, member board of directors. Pioneer in introduction of modern methods of water purification.

Designed and installed plants for more than 800 towns, cities and industrial concerns, and with others, for over 500 towns and cities, also has built many such plants for United States Government in connection with war projects.

Inventor of chemical feeding machines and other devices used in connection with water purification plants used throughout the world. Received Modern Pioneer Award for achievements in science, 1940.

Named honorary citizen Bacharach, Germany, 1956.
