Career
He is currently playing with the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect of the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (National Hockey League). Karlsson was drafted in the fourth round, 99th overall, in 2012 by the Hurricanes. Karlsson developed as a youth in his native Sweden with the Frölunda The Human Context organization.
He played in his first Elitserien game on December 18, 2012, against AIK.
