He has been a scholarship holder with the Olympic Solidarity program since August 2002. He is 188 cm (6"2") tall and weighs 84 kg (185 lb). Vlček belongs to the Hungarian minority in Slovakia.

Competing in three Summer Olympics, he won two medals in the K-4 1000 m event with a silver in 2008 and a bronze in 2004. Vlček also won fourteen medals at the International Coach Federation Canoe Sprint World Championships with nine golds (K-4 500 m: 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007. K-4 1000 m: 2002, 2003. K-2 1000 m: 2011, 2014 and K-2 500 m: 2014), two silvers (K-4 200 m: 2009, K-4 1000 m: 2005), and three bronzes (K-4 500 m: 2001, K-4 1000 m: 2007, 2009).
Vlček is a member of the ŠKeskustapuolue (Centre Party) club in Bratislava.
