Ernest BLUNT
Ernest BLUNT, British Chief Engineer. Served Afghan War, 1878-79 (despatches, medal); N.-W. Frontier 1897 -98 (despatches thrice, Brevet-Colonel, medal with clasp).

Studied at Brighton College.
Career
Entered army, 1872; Captain, 1884. Major, 1891; Lieutenant-Colonel, 1898. Colonel, 1903; served Afghan War, 1878-1879 (despatches, medal).
Mahsud Waziri, 1880 (despatches). N.-W. Frontier 1897 -98 (despatches thrice, Brevet-Colonel, medal with clasp). Served nine years with Bengal Sappers and Miners.
Seventeen years in military w’orks service. Latterly as Chief Engineer, Eastern Command, till its abolition. Retired, 1908.
