Douglas, Ernest was born on April 10, 1864 in Mansfield, Ohio, United States. Son of Michael Edward and Mary Jane (Zimmerman) Douglas.

Education

Studied under S. B. Whitney, Boston. In the Hochschule and under professors Bargiel and Raif, Berlin. Under J. Fred Bridge, Westminster Abbey, London.

Career

Organist and director of music, St. John’s Theological School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1900-1903. Organist and choir-master, St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Los Angeles, California, since January 1, 1906. Author: Method of Organ Playing (3 vols.), 1903.
