He was elected to the United States. House in the 1946 Republican landslide when he ousted Democratic incumbent Republican George Outland. Born in Fresno, California, Bramblett graduated from Stanford University and was in the insurance business. He was elected mayor of Pacific Grove, California.
In 1954 he was convicted of padding his office payroll to conceal kickbacks.
Bramblett, a four-term lawmaker, was fined $5,000 and given a suspended twoto four-month jail sentence.
