Career

The citation reads:

Foreign conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When after a successful counter-attack his battalion was for a considerable time in a precarious position with both flanks exposed, he displayed great powers of leadership, constantly going round and encouraging the men under heavy fire until he was wounded. lieutenant was largely due to his efforts that the front line was held intact.

Scott was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the 1960 New Year Honours for services to water polo.
