Followed profession in Toronto, 1886-1890. London, 1891-1895; New York City, 1896-1903. Detroit, 1904-1910; became associate architect with Albert Kahn, Detroit, 1910.

Instructor architecture University of Michigan, 1922-1925, professor 1926-1930, lecturer, 1930-1943.
