Formerly Fellow, and now Honourable Fellow, of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales, 1903-1905 and 1909-1911. Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford, 1905-1906 and 1909-1910.

President of Section A of the British Associate, 1906.

Fellow of the Philosophical Society, Of Cambridge University, and of the Physical Society London. Member of the Educational Committees of Glamorganshire and Cardiff County Councils.

Of Council of National Welsh Museum. Of the Court of the University of Bristol.

And of the Council of the Royal Society, 1909-1910.

Justice of the Peace Glam. County.

Awarded Hughes Gold Medal by Royal Society for contributions to exact phsical measurements, 1907.; Honourable and; Principal and Professor of Experimental Philosophy, University College, of Wales, since 1901.

Achievements

• He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1895 and won its Hughes Medal in 1907.
