Shurtleff, Ernest Warburton was born on April 4, 1862 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Asahel M. and Sarah Ann (Keegan) Shurtleff.

Education

Harvard, 1881-1882; New Church Theological Seminary, 1884. Graduate Andover Thoel. Seminary, 1888; post-graduate scholarship course, Andover, 1890.

Also received complete musical education. (Doctor of Divinity, Ripon College, 1905).

Career

Ordained Congleton ministry, 1889. Pastor at Ventura, California, 1889-1890, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 1891-1898, First Church, Minneapolis, 1898-1905. Organized American Church in Frankfort-on-the-Main, Germany, 1905-1906.

In charge of the Students’ Atelier Reunions, Paris, France, since 1906. Author; Poems, 1883; Easter Gleams, 1883. New Year’s Peace, 1885.
