This book is one of a series of six published by the Board of Parish Education of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod through its Family Life Committee. It is written specifically for parents, to be of assistance to them in the important task of guiding their children in the area of sex attitudes. This book understands that many parents have difficulty in communicating knowledge and attitudes and skills in the area of sex because they themselves do not feel free and relaxed. Their own knowledge may be limited to what they heard incidentally from others and from their own private experiences. From their own childhood they never had the opportunity to think of one's sex and sexuality being something very natural. The first three chapters of this book will help give parents a Christian understanding of sex for themselves and will apprise them of the role they must play in helping their children. The book , furthermore, offers tangible help to parents who want to guide their children but don't know how to go about it. The last five chapters deal with specific age levels. Each chapter discusses some of the natural characteristics of the particular age level and then gives answers to some typical questions and concerns of that age level. The answers given are not meant to be used as such, but are meant to be guides to parents to show them how the question can be handled.
