Career
Dr Torok qualified in medicine from the Universities of Oxford and London. She did her postgraduate medical training in Oxford and then became a Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College in London. She returned to Oxford to do her specialist training in infectious diseases and medical microbiology. She did her PhD research at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was appointed a Consultant in Infectious Diseases in Cambridge in 2009, and a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge in 2011. She was awarded a Clinician Scienitist Fellowship by Academy of Medical Sciences and the Health Foundation in 2015.
