Esther Mok

Background

Esther Mok was born on April 15, 1953, in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, into the family of Weng Pew and Kon Yin (Liew) Mok.

Education

In 1977 Esther received Bachelor of Science at the University of Malaya, and then she got Diploma in Education there in 1978. Finally, she earned Master of Arts at the University of Iowa in 1984.

Career

Since 1984 Esther Mok has served as a science teacher at middle school and math and biology instructor at high school in San Francisco Unified School District. Moreover, she holds the position of a kindergarten teacher since 1995. During her career she devoted much time to writing, including poetry.

Achievements

• Esther Mok is famous as the author of a book "Sumo, the Wrestling Elephant", written in 1994.
