Archdeacon and general missionary in N. Texas, 1911-1916. Rector St. Andrew’s Church, Amarillo, 1916-1920, Church of the Holy Comforter, Gadsden, Alabama, 1920-1925. Executive secretary Diocese of Alabama, 1923-1924.

Consecrated 2d bishop of North Texas, January 18, 1925. Managing editor Alabama Churchman 2 years. Trustee University of the South.
