He served under Governors Russell West. Peterson and Sherman West. Tribbitt. Mr. Bookhammer served in the United States Army during World World War World War II He was in the lumber mill business. Mr. Bookhammer also served in the Delaware State Senate.
With author Richard Carter, Mr.
Bookhammer wrote a book in 2009: "Gene Bookhammer and His World." He died at his home in Lewes in February 2013. He was 94.
