A Freemason, Past Deputy Grand Master of the Order, previously held the office of Grand Lecturer after passing the Chair in Lodge St. Alban, the Literary Lodge of the State. President of the Adelaide Park Lands Preservation League. King’s Counsel 1900; a practising Barrister of the Supreme Court of South Australia; Chancellor of the Diocese of Adelaide since 1906.
