Truette, Everett Ellsworth was born on March 14, 1861 in Rockland, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Joseph and Catherine Pierce (Holbrook) Truette.

Education

Graduate Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts, 1878. Studied N.E. Conservatory of Music. Bachelor of Music, Boston University, 1883.

Studied with Haupt (Berlin), Guilmant (Paris), Best (Liverpool and London).

Career

Organist and choirmaster, Eliot Congressional Church, Newton, Massachusetts, since 1897. Widely known as concert organist and teacher. A founder American Guild of Organists (dean of the New England Chapter, 1918-1919).
