Born in Sound Island, Newfoundland, educated Bishop Feild College, Saint John"son Harnum"s business background is in Insurance where he worked for Dale and Company Limited, then Bowring Insurance, then Mutual Life Insurance of Canada and finally with West.U. Knowling Insurance Limited. Harnum then established his own business Harnum Insurance Agencies.
Harnum was very active in the community and served on many boards.
