Education

Graduate with 1st honors, Harvard, 1820, honorary Doctor of Divinity, 1843, graduated from Harvard Divinity School, 1823.

Career

Ordained to Unitarian ministry at Federal Saint Church, Boston, 1824 assistant, then pastor. An organizer American Unitarian Association, served as 1st secretary, 6 years, president, 1847-1851. Editor Scriptural Interpreter, 1831-1835.

An organizer Benevolent Fraternity of Church for the Support of the Ministry-at-Large, 1834, secretary, also president, 1857-1862.

An overseer Harvard, 1835-1858. Helped to edit Christian Register.

Edited Monthly Miscellany of Religion and Letter, 1839-1843. Company-editor Christian Examiner, 1844-1849.
