He entered Cornell’s School of Architecture. Following graduation in 1900 he received supplementary training in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts.
In 1903 Mr. Jackson opened an office in Providence in partnership with James K. Hilton and W. T. Robertson, later carried on work with Howard Hilton and three junior associates under the original firm name until his death in 1903. Engaged in an extensive practice Mr. Jackson's firm designed various buildings, churches, hospitals, libraries, town and city public structures, also planned a number of Housing projects. Independently Mr. Jackson was active in City Planning work and from 1931 to 1944 served on the Providence City Planning Commission.
Closely identified with the American Institute of Architects during his career and held in high esteem by his confreres, Mr. Jackson was raised to Fellowship in 1930, served as Regional Director, 1925-27, on the jury of Fellows, 1937-40; also held the office of president of the R. I. Chapter two - years, 1921-23.
