Background
Faizan S. Syed was born in Karachi, Pakistan. He is the grandson of the notable philosopher and educationist Doctor Manzoor Ahmad.

Faizan attended Karachi Grammar School, through high school and subsequently moved to the United States to attend the University of Virginia, where he received a dual degree in Psychology and Economics. Faizan went on to complete his Master of Business Administration in Finance at The Johnson School at Cornell University where we was selected to be a Park Leadership Fellow.
Career
He is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of HTV, the only television channel in Pakistan that provides health and lifestyle content. Faizan spent his initial career at General Motors in various cities across the United States in manufacturing, marketing and strategy. He has helped secure multiple patents for General Motors during his time.
He was also selected by General Motors as an Emerging Global Leader.
Post Master of Business Administration, he worked as an investment banker for Barclays Capital (formerly Lehman Brothers). He worked in the Global Industrials Group, covering the auto sector.
In 2011, he relocated back to Pakistan to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Health Television, which is a part of Ziauddin Group. Since his arrival, he has transformed HTV from a medical channel into a health and lifestyle media platform.
HTV was recently featured by British Broadcasting Corporation for its proper execution of a show on topics considered taboo in Pakistan.
In January 2012, he launched and became the Founding Director of the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at Ziauddin University, Pakistan’s first media school integrated with a television channel, radio station and popular website. In 2014, he founded Saneff, a company which produces, markets and distributes herbal products. Saneff has a wide range of products sold under the name Hiba Life. and has also served as the former Communications Company-Chair of the Entrepreneurs Organization in 2014.
Faizan is an avid auto enthusiast and participated in the 10th Jhal Magsi Desert Challenge Race 2014 in which he placed 2nd in his category and in the Cholistan Jeep Rally 2015 in which he successfully finished the race finishing 6th in his category.
In his spare time, Faizan restores and maintains vintage cars.
Membership
Faizan also serves as a board member of Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation since 2013.

He is determined to make ICMS the number 1 media school in Pakistan and focuses on training and developing the best talent in the media industry.
