Career
She was drafted in 2012 by the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association. Abdi was born in 1992 in Sweden. Her parents had emigrated from Somalia a few years earlier. Abdi initially played for Frisco Brno in the Czechoslovakian Republic basketball league.
In 2012, she joined the Los Angeles Sparks, making her the first Somali to play in the Women's National Basketball Association. As of 2013, Abdi plays as a forward.
