His first team start came three days later when he helped Middlesbrough to a 2 - 0 victory over Peterborough United in the League Cup second round. Haroun quickly became a fans" favourite at Middlesbrough with fans chanting "HAROOOOUUUUN" when he touches the ball or comes off the bench.
Faris scored his second goal for Middlesbrough in a 3–2 victory against Cardiff City.
Faris scored his first goal for Middlesbrough in the 2012-2013 season against Hull, in which he dribbled around the keeper in a 2–0 victory. On 30 January 2014, Haroun"s contract at Middlesbrough was cancelled by mutual consent.
Blackpool
On 31 January 2014, Haroun completed a move to Blackpool until the end of the 2013-2014 season. Back to Belgium
As a free agent player, he signed for Cercle Brugge on 12 November 2014.
He has played for Belgium and competed for the national team at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
