Background

Pezet, Federico Alfonso was born on July 18, 1859 in Peruvian Legation in London, England. Son of Federico Pezet y Tirado, of Peru, and Elizabeth Emma Alcock Eastted.

Education

Beaumont College, Old Windsor, England. St. George’s College, West Croyden, England. Graduate as sub-lt, in artillery, Peruvian Military Academy, Lima, 1878.

Career

Served through war bet. Chile and Peru, 1879-1883. Wounded at battle of Tarapaca, November 27, 1879.

Later made prisoner and taken to Valparaiso, Chile. Exchanged and returned to service, 1880. Spanish editor, Panama Star and Herald, 1884-1886.

Consul of Peru at Panama, 1886-1889. Consul-general, Liverpool and London, England., later New York, 1889-1899. 1st secretary of legation at Washington, 1900, and charge d’affaires and consul-general of Peru in Central America and Panama, 1904-1909.

Envoy Extraordinary anu Minister Plenipotentiary, same, 1909. Special Electrical Engineer to Mexico and Central America, 1910-1912. Envoy Extraordinary anu Minister Plenipotentiary to the United States, since 1912.
