Fedor RESHETNIKOV, USSR Painter. Full member, USSR Academy, of Arts, since 1953; Popular Artist Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic since 1956. Order of Red Banner of Labor; Order of Red Star; Stalin Prizes, 1949, 1951. Member, Communist Party, since 1945.

Background

RESHETNIKOV, Fedor was born in 1906 in village Sulsko-Litovskoe, Ukrainia.

Education

1926 graduated Moscow Workers Faculty of Art. 1934 graduated Moscow Art Institute.

Career

1932 member, Sibiryakov, and 1933-1934 Chelyuskin polar expeditions. Has drawn caricatures and cartoons for journals “Krokodil” and “Smena”. Has illustrated several books.

1941-1942 war artist at Sevastopol and Kerch. In recent years has specialized in paintings of children. Instructor, Moscow Surikov Art Institute.
