Feofan Gavrilovich graduated from the Kiev Theological Seminary and Theological Academy (1851). In 1854, he acquired a degree of Master of Theology.
Feofan Gavrilovich Lebedyntsev was a teacher of civil history of the Voronezh Theological Seminary (1851-1856). He was a lecturer of the Kiev Theological Seminary, professor of the Kiev Theological Academy (1856-1864). Feofan Gavrilovich was an editor of the magazine "The Guide for Rural Shepherds" (1860-1863). He headed the directorate of public schools of the Kholmsk, Lublin, Radomsk provinces (1865-1880).
The author of the thesis "A look at the union of south-west Russia". Editor of the magazine "Kievskaya starina" (1882-1887). The author of the memories about T.G. Shevchenko, as well as a number of books on the history of Orthodoxy in Western Ukraine XVII-XVIII centuries.
