Beekeeper in a kolkhoz farm in Saratov Oblast’. Gave up his personal savings for the war effort in 1942. Accepted into the party, 1944, and transformed into a cult figure, symbolizing the devotion and love of the simple people for the Soviet government and Stalin personally.
After World War II, Hero of Socialist Labour, 1948, and Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
